Root Family Legacy: Sprengeri Tulip
Professor of Biology Emeritus Gene Putala will give a Thursday afternoon talk about the rare sprengeri tulip, a self-seeding tulip which has graced our own Root Glen for many years. It remains a mystery how this rare species of tulip appeared at Hamilton, but Professor Putala has several possible theories. Although retired, Professor Putala lives in the area and serves on the Root Glen Advisory Committee. He will share stories about the Root family as well as educate gardners about the beautiful sprengeri which comes into full bloom just in time to welcome alumni back for Reunions! More ...
David Monaco '89 Named Head of Parish Episcopal School
David Monaco '89 has been named the next head of the Parish Episcopal School in Dallas, Texas.  Monaco will be replacing the school's long-standing head, Gloria Synder, when she steps down in June.  At Hamilton, Monaco was a history major and a member of the football team.  More ...

Jennifer Morris K'72 to be Honored at UN on February 7

Jennifer Sunderlin '04 was recently appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York. Sunderlin graduated with a double major in Government and Theatre. At Hamilton, she was a member of Gamma Xi and Special K. After graduation, she attended Albany Law School of Union University and earned her Juris Doctor in 2007. More ...

David Backus '75 Blogs on the Economy
David Backus '75, Heinz Riehl Professor of International Economics and Finance at New York University's Stern School of Business, has been actively commenting on today's federal economic program. While at Hamilton, Backus majored in economics under the guidance of economics professor Derek Jones and sang with the choir. He is the son of John K. According to The Advocate of Stamford, Conn., Kerry Leonard '0, who scored 24 goals and assisted on 24 others in 75 games during her three seasons on Hamilton's ice hockey team, has taken on the formidable task of developing the girls' ice hockey program at Wilton High School in Wilton, Conn. The Wilton Warriors are now in their first season, and Leonard is the team's first coach. More ...
