Louisa Stone’s ’17 internship this summer combined her passion for social justice with her goal of pursuing a career in public policy and legislation. Stone, a government major, worked for SurvJustice, a non-profit organization in Washington, D.C. that helps survivors of sexual violence to find justice through legal assistance, policy advocacy, and institutional training. Emma Anderson ’17 has always been fascinated by biology. She is planning to pursue a graduate degree in a nutrition-related field, and hopes to have a positive impact on the health and well-being of others through her career. This summer, Anderson was selected for the Summer Student Program at The Jackson Laboratory, a non-profit biomedical research institution located in Bar Harbor, Maine. Kacy Hobbis ’17 is a pro at engaging in government-focused community service, but this summer she wanted to take a different path. She’s interning at Youth Service America (YSA), a non-profit that motivates young people to become involved in community service. YSA runs grant programs, training and building toolkits to help youth complete their own service projects. Emily Lei ’19 is interested in a career in nursing, and this summer she’s gaining vital career-related experience to help her down that path. She is interning with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York’s (VNSNY) Hospice department, specializing in cardiology. Through her internship, which is supported by the Career Center’s First Year Forward program, she’s been able to work on building a diverse skill set and is gaining a lot of insight into the profession.  More ...

Mackenzie Doherty ’18 is spending this summer as an intern for Generation Teach Summer Academy, a two-week training on classroom control and pre-service teacher responsibilities and duties followed by a four-week program solo-teaching three to four class periods a day of middle school students. Naturally, Bernstein ’17 is Working Outdoors

If there was ever an internship tailor made for a student, Sam Bernstein ’17 has found it. Bernstein is a veteran Hamilton Outing Club member and leader who is interning this summer at Zoar Outdoor in Western Massachusetts. Zoar is an outdoor recreation company that offers guided whitewater rafting trips, zipline canopy tours, and whitewater kayaking and canoeing instruction for everyone from beginners to advanced paddlers.  More ...
