Anderson Cooper interviews renowned mindfulness teacher Jon Kabat-Zinn on the opportunities and challenges of mindfulness in our current society. Jon will share his reflections on the state of mindfulness in our culture, from his work creating Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction to working with leaders in a wide range of fields.

Jewel has spent much of her life creating and singing music that inspires and speaks to the best parts of people. Jewel will be interviewed by Arianna Huffington.

The company is Headspace, and the former monk is co-founder Andy Puddicombe, who will share with us his lessons and learnings in making meditation accessible to the masses.

She recently left Huffington Post to start her new company, Thrive Global, focused on these topics. In this interview, Vice President of People at Google Karen May will explore with Arianna her learnings in this area, and the role of mindfulness in supporting a new generation of leadership in society.

Mindfulness is often seen as something only useful or needed among certain populations, but the practice has no real barriers, and all populations can benefit. In this panel, Rhonda and Amishi share their experience offering mindfulness to diverse populations, ranging from those in the justice system to the military, and why social change and social justice are essential ingredients in this effort.

Increasingly, many people’s initial introduction to meditation is through sports. Athletes and coaches recognize how clarity and remaining calm can impact their performance and look to mindfulness practices for support. George Mumford has taught mindfulness to some of the world's greatest athletes, from Michael Jordan to Kobe Bryant. In this session, he will share his thoughts and lessons learned in this emerging field.

What is happening with mindfulness in New York City? He is the founder and former CEO of Nest, the company that pioneered the “Internet of things.” Previously, he was SVP of Apple’s iPod Division and led the team that created the iPod and the first three generations of the iPhone. But technology has its shadow side, and Tony is concerned about where the digital world is taking us and how we can foster balance and human connection in these times. In this interview, Anderson Cooper sits down with Tony for a far reaching conversation on technology, addiction, and mindfulness.

We live in a time of deep divides, surrounded by a media world that thrives on the attraction of Anger. In this panel, we will look at the challenges and opportunities of our time, and ways to engage that unites rather than separates. The panel includes three inspiring leaders in the movement: mindfulness teacher and activist, Leslie Booker; author and real estate developer, Jonathan Rose; and Fortune Society President & CEO, JoAnne Page.

Can Your App be Your Teacher? Technology, Mindfulness & Love with Sharon Salzberg
More people receive mindfulness and meditation teachings through apps. In this discussion will ask, “What are the benefits and challenges as technology becomes the vehicle for this? What is the role of apps in supporting mindfulness and when do we need to put down our phones and connect to ourselves and others?” We will speak with Sharon Salzberg (author Real Love) to explore the role apps and other technologies in creating a more aware and loving world.

Altered Traits: The Science of Mindfulness by Daniel Goleman
Esteemed psychologist, journalist, and author, Daniel Goleman will share lessons from his recent research on the science of mindfulness — what do we know and what are we still learning?  How does the brain change and what does science tell us? Dan will share insights from his research compiled in his latest book, Altered Traits: Science Reveals How Meditation Changes Your Mind, Brain, and Body.

Mindfulness 9-to-5: Innovation & Spaciousness in the Workplace
In this panel, we will explore the possibilities and opportunities of bringing mindfulness into work. LinkedIn Vice President Scott Schute, and Eileen Fisher will share lessons they have gleaned from practicing mindfulness themselves in the workplace and supporting it at their respective companies. We are happy to have three leaders dive deeply into what it means to bring their practices to their work. They will be interviewed by Search Inside Yourself CEO, Rich Fernandez.

The White House, Mindfulness, & Next Generation Leaders with David Simas & Jon Kabat-Zinn
Davis Simas was one the President Obama’s key advisors in the White House and now heads up the Obama Foundation as CEO. In an intimate discussion with Jon Kabat-Zinn, David will share his lessons as a mindfulness practitioner in the White House, why it matters to him, and how he sees it may be incorporated in training the next generation of leaders. Together they will explore the next wave of engagement and mindful leadership in our world.
