Muslim Community

Muslim Student Association (MSA) provides ways for Muslim students, or students interested in Islam, to talk about issues relating to the religious facet of their lives.

The MSA also makes arrangements to transport students to the mosques in Utica for Friday prayers (Jumma) and Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha prayers. Bi-weekly meetings are held every other Thursday at 9 p.m. in the Muslim Prayer Room.

muslim prayer roomThe Muslim Prayer Room and Wudhu station are located in the Chapel on the second and third floors.  They are meant for worship, anyone in the Hamilton community who would like to take part is welcome.  The Prayer Room and Wudhu station are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when the college is in session.

Temporary accommodations can be made for students fasting during the month of Ramadan, and Muslim students who are committed to eating a halal diet during their Hamilton College years are encouraged to meet with the MSA Advisor and College Chaplain to work with Bon Appetit to arrive at a workable arrangement.
