Assistant Professor of Religious Studies (Indigenous Studies)

The Religious Studies Department at Hamilton College seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in indigenous studies at assistant professor rank to start July 1, 2013.  The Department seeks applicants with a specialization in an indigenous tradition in the Americas with a capacity to teach others in a comparative perspective.  Additional interests include indigeneity theory, gender construction, and the global indigenous rights movements. Discipline open but candidates should display a capacity to engage perspectives on religion (traditions, lifeways) in an interdisciplinary undergraduate program.  PhD preferred but strong ABD candidates will be considered.  Hamilton is nationally recognized for the quality of its undergraduate education and provides strong support for scholarly activity.  Letters of application, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation should be submitted to Interfolio at http://www.interfolio.com/apply/14614  by November 15.
