Assistant Professor of Biology (Population Ecology)
The Biology Department seeks to hire a tenure-track assistant professor, effective July 1, 2014. Ph.D. and teaching experience required; post-doctoral research strengthens the application. The successful applicant will teach (1) a lecture/ lab course in ecology, (2) an additional course in conservation or global change biology, (3) a part of the team-taught introductory biology program, and will supervise senior thesis research. An ongoing research program involving undergraduates is expected. Serious consideration will be given to candidates whose scholarly work and teaching is truly integrative, e.g. conservation/ sustainability/ global change. Previous experience teaching or working with diverse student populations is an asset. Support is available for research and conference travel.
