Abby Morton Celebrates 50 Years on the Hill

By Kristin Strohmeyer

Abby Morton recently celebrated 50 years of work in the LITS Acquisitions department.  Abby arrived at Hamilton College in the summer of 1965, working in the James Library, now Christian Johnson.  She has seen the chartering of Kirkland College, the arrival of women on the hill, and a move to Burke Library.  Abby has also gone through countless other changes: gone are the days of the printed card catalog and typewriters, and no more smoking in the All Night Reading Room!  The college will more formerly recognize her in the spring, but there was cake and celebration for LITS on July 20. We are so fortunate to have Abby working for LITS, and wish her the very best on this excellent anniversary.
