Many Members of LITS Assist in Recent ILiADS Institute

July 26 to August 2, Hamilton College was host to ILiADS, the Institute for Liberal Arts Digital Scholarship. The success of this week long institute and conference could not have taken place without the assistance of many members of LITS. 

  • Janet Simons: co-organized/hosted ILiADS, Project management session; Models of DH in liberal arts schools session; cross institutional collaboration models session; session on crowdsourcing/participatory scholarship models; ad hoc consulting.
  • David Smallen gave opening remarks for the Institute Week, sponsored a LITS reception, supported the ILiADS undergraduate revolution, and supported LITS attendance at ILiADS events all week.
  • Greg Lord: session on design best practices and prototyping; presentation on web development, participation on Kyoko Omori's team as a team member all week. Consulting on 3D modeling and web design all week.
  • Carl Rosenfield: session on WordPress; consulting on WordPress
  • Lynn Mayo, Lisa McFall, Ben Salzman: presentation on Shared Shelf
  • Lisa McFall: Ad hoc metadata consultations for teams.
  • Ted Fondak: mentor to an ILiADS team and provided ad hoc consultations
  • Kristin Strohmeyer: support of Kyoko Omori's project during Institute Week, session on Collaboration Models, library research consultations
  • Lisa Forrest: project mentor; project management/planning consulting
  • Alex Rihm: session on First year experience, library research consultations
  • Reid Larson: session on The Adirondack Guide
  • Glynis Asu: session on Blended Learning/Information Literacy, library research consultations
  • Bret Olson and Forrest Warner: session on multimedia, consulting on multimedia
  • Maureen Scoones maintained the registration system and budget for ILiADS and kept Janet focused on details.
  • Theresa Lapinski coordinated logistics for ILiADS, worked at the registration desk, and developed catering menus
  • Desktop Services Team helped select participation rooms and set up printing for conference attendees.
  • Network Services Team set up guest wireless logins…TWICE because conference attendees were too literate and kept typing ILiADS the way Homer did…two L's.
  • Audio-Visual Services Team were amazing and handled all presentation support and also videotaped the major sessions.
  • Beth Bohstedt helped with the scheduling of LITS and participated in the conference.
