About the Board
When a member of the College community files a formal complaint that proceeds through a formal resolution process, members of the HSMB will make a determination on whether the applicable policy was violated.
To prevent further incidents from occurring, and in keeping with the College’s obligations under Title IX, Hamilton employees (except those who are identified as confidential) are required to report possible incidents of sex-based discrimination to Director of Title IX & Civil Rights Compliance Debbie Owens (dowens@hamilton.edu, 315-859-4896 or after hours for emergencies through Campus Safety at 315-859-4000). The Title IX Director will offer to meet with the person who may have experienced sex-based discrimination to explain the options available and discuss next steps, including the option to file a formal complaint under the applicable policy and/or the option to pursue a criminal complaint.
