The Howard Wilcox Scholarship

The Howard Wilcox Scholarship was established by Howard Wilcox, Class of 1961, with preference given to students from Clinton and Essex counties in New York.

Established by Howard J. Wilcox, a member of the Class of 1961, this Fund provides financial aid to Hamilton students. As a scholarship recipient himself, Howard wishes to make similar academic opportunities available to future generations of students. Howard served for many years on the Alumni Council and as a class volunteer. Now retired, he devoted his career to teaching as a math professor at Wellesley College. He also performed with the Boston Symphony for many years as a member of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus.

Howard Wilcox established this scholarship in recognition of Hamilton’s enduring commitment to provide life-changing educational opportunities to promising young scholars regardless of their financial means. Howard is particularly hopeful that other young men and women from upstate New York will experience a Hamilton education as he did.

Please note: The named scholarships profiled on these pages are awarded as part of the College’s need-based financial aid packages. These funds help ensure the Hamilton Promise of keeping education affordable through meeting a student’s full demonstrated financial need.
