  • Classroom space on campus – currently most do not support contemporary learning styles or pedagogy
  • Preservation/Expansion of the Glen as a core academic aspect of our campus
  • Links to art facilities (e.g., art museum, performance spaces)
  • Housing on campus
  • Students: do we want a 100% residential campus? Do we want to reorganize geographically or thematically?
  • Faculty and Administrators: Providing more of what people want on the campus (upgraded spaces, larger units for families, sustainability)
  • Increasing effective social spaces (e.g., Opus I, II, new ELS construction) on campus
  • How about a cultural center?
  • How can we best use our facilities to support campus diversity?
  • Summer use of campus
  • How do we balance issues surrounding revenue, furthering the college's mission, and needed time for improvements and annual facilities upgrades.
  • Thinking "green" about environmental issues
  • Becoming carbon neutral in 5 years
  • Finding a way to link this issue to the college's curriculum and teaching goals.
  • Rethinking campus vehicles and how they are used and powered (biofuels)
  • Increasing alternative energy use on campus (e.g., wind, geothermal)
  • Should we encourage students to help pay for "green" energy?
  • Increasing environmental awareness on campus
  • Conservation of energy resources
  • New thermostats in dorms and buildings
  • Changing campus attitudes about being more energy efficient
  • Continuing to support and develop new and upcoming programs
  • Environmentally sound new construction
  • Composting and the Community Garden
  • Recycling on campus
  • Re-considering the college's land (the outlying fields) that are currently leased out for farming. How might this land be better used to support the college's academic and social goals?
