Visiting the Wellin Museum
Art plays a vital role in making connections for every discipline, at every grade level. The Wellin Museum of Art offers a unique opportunity for students and their teachers to take advantage of content-specific lessons related to a broad spectrum of art, from paleolithic to contemporary. To complement your visit, we offer a selection of activities connected to Wellin Museum exhibitions and the permanent collection. Wellin staff will work with you to create custom activities that tie in to school curriculum and standards as part of our Common Core Collaboration program. All programs are free and open to everyone.

Docents at the Wellin Museum
As a teaching museum, the Wellin offers educational experiences for our visitors. Our docents are Hamilton College students who act as educational guides through our exhibitions and collections. They come from a wide range of backgrounds and offer their own academic knowledge, creating a unique, personalized, and fresh perspective while discussing the artwork on view. Hamilton College’s mission highlights “education in all its forms,” and this approach is at the core of the Wellin Museum’s interdisciplinary approach for all of our visitors.
