Adirondack Adventure is Hamilton College's nationally acclaimed six-day outdoor program for incoming students. It's a great opportunity to get acclimated, start college with a group of good friends, and (while you're at it) spend some time learning and having fun in the great outdoors.
Not sure that Adirondack Adventure (AA) is for you? Not from the Northeast? Not been camping much? Can't decide which trip to do? If any of these apply to you, the first thing is not to worry. Thousands of kids who have never camped before have done AA and enjoyed themselves. Beginner trips really are made for beginners!
The trips fall into the following categories:
Here's the link to this year's slideshow, pictures from (ahem, nearly) all the trips.
Currently directed by Andrew Jillings, the program has been in place for more than 3 gazillion years and contributes greatly to students' community feeling at Hamilton. Students who participate in Adirondack Adventure often meet their best college friends on the trip. Even after the program ends, many trip groups get together regularly to share their memories of the trip and their ongoing Hamilton experience.
