Students Awarded Prizes, Scholarships at Class & Charter Day

Academic achievement prizes, prize scholarships and other recognition of student accomplishments were awarded at Hamilton’s 65th annual Class & Charter Day convocation on Monday, May 11, in the Wellin Hall. Among the top prizes Abigail Homer ’16 was awarded the Milton F. Fillius Jr. /Joseph Drown Prize Scholarship, and Meghan O’Sullivan ’15 was named the recipient of the James Soper Merrill Prize. John Hadity ’83, a film financing expert and executive vice president for EP Financial Solutions, gave the address titled “The Underrated Element of Surprise.”  More ...

Faculty Members Receive Teaching Awards at Class & Charter Day

Hamilton College’s highest awards for teaching were presented to four faculty members during the annual Class & Charter Day ceremony on May 11. Professor of Classics Shelley Haley was awarded the Samuel & Helen Lang Prize for Excellence in Teaching; Assistant Professor of Mathematics Courtney Gibbons was honored with the John R. Hatch Excellence in Teaching Award; and Max Majireck, assistant professor of chemistry, received the Class of 1963 Excellence in Teaching Award.
