You have the option of utilizing psychiatric services if you are interested in how you might benefit from a medication. Medication in addition to counseling can be helpful when people experience depression, anxiety, and other psychological issues. We are happy to talk with you about your options for obtaining a psychiatric consultation, and can facilitate referrals both on and off-campus. You have two primary options for psychiatric consultation on-campus:
1. Tina Young, RN, ANP-C, who provides ongoing psychiatric services through the Health Center, and
2. Neal Borenstein, MD, who provides initial consultations only through the Counseling Center.
Additional options include obtaining a referral for a psychiatrist in your home area or within the Clinton area. On-campus services are provided free of charge; payment for off-campus services are the responsibility of the student.
Appointments can be made by calling the Counseling Center at 315-859-4340 or by stopping by the Counseling Center office on the second floor of the Health Center. The Office Coordinator, can schedule an appointment for a student with any of the three professional therapists in the office.
