The multicultural peer mentoring project supports first-year students as they embark on their Hamilton education.
Although the program is open to any new student who desires a peer mentor, its purpose is to assist international, first-generation (first in the family to attend college) and historically underrepresented students with their transition to college life. Recruitment of program participants takes place the summer before students arrive at Hamilton. Invitations to join the project are sent by email. Prospective mentees are asked to provide information about their personal and academic interests in order to match them with a compatible peer mentor.
