Our Mission

The Thomas B. Rudd Health Center is dedicated to maintaining the health and well being of the students of Hamilton College. We promote a healthy lifestyle through education and preventative  medical care.   We provide diagnostic services and treatment of illness and medical conditions typical of a primary care office, in accordance with current standards of care.  The health center is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care to students.

Medical Emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency, please call campus safety at 315-859-4000 for  Hamilton College Emergency Medical Services (HCEMS).

The health center is staffed with one full time physician and physician's assistant.  Triage nurse services are available during clinic hours and students are encouraged to call the triage line with medical questions or concerns.  Same day appointments with the nurse or provider are available.   Students are seen by appointment with allowances made for emergencies. There is no fee for evaluation by the staff.  The health center maintains an in-house lab and a dispensary of common medications.  For additional testing or services, students are referred to local specialists and/or imaging/testing centers.

Please pick up any prescription you are expecting from the health center by 4pm Monday-Friday.  Students will be notified after one week if prescriptions have not been picked up.  After two weeks, unclaimed medications will be returned to the pharmacy or disposed of.  Due to regulatory requirements, no controlled substances can be delivered to, stored or dispensed by the health center.
