The Academic Office Assistant will provide a broad range of secretarial and administrative support to the Director of Off Campus Study and the faculty in the Department of Mathematics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating office communications, drafting and processing of word documents, internet research as it relates to program and department needs, spreadsheet preparation and data gathering [activities], oversight of student help, telephone coverage, maintaining departmental paper and computer files, working with students, parents, outside vendors and other academic and administrative offices on campus. This position is a part time, 9 month schedule.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree or advanced secretarial training plus a minimum of two years experience in a related field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Specific Skills and Abilities:
Must have knowledge of contemporary office practices, procedures and techniques. Must be proficient in operation of personal computers and associated standard office software, basic customer service standards and principles; other office resources and equipment including phones and telecommunications systems, fax machines, copy machines.
