The public is invited to attend.

  • Christian Goodwillie, Hamilton College rare books librarian, and Jane Crosthwaite, professor of religion at Mount Holyoke College, will give the Couper Phi Beta Kappa Lecture on Monday, Nov. 15, at 4 p.m., in the Red Pit, Kirner-Johnson Building at Hamilton College. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is based on their book on Shaker hymnody. Hymnody is the singing or composing of hymns.

  • Tracy Mitrano, the director of IT Policy and Computer Policy and Law Programs for the Office of Information Technologies at Cornell University, will give the Couper Phi Beta Kappa Lecture on Thursday, April 29, at 4:10 p.m., in the Science Center Kennedy Auditorium. Her lecture is titled “Copyright Conundrums: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow” and is free and open to the public.

  • Pianist Dick Hyman and guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli headed up a sextet of outstanding jazz musicians during Fallcoming Weekend 2009. The ensemble performed two sets of music on Friday, Oct. 2.
