Two-time all-region team honoree Lainie Smith '16, who ran in the 2014 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, leads the Hamilton College women into 2015.

A total of 29 student-athletes were honored at Hamilton College’s 2015 Scholar-Athlete Luncheon. The event, which was co-sponsored by Hamilton's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Department of Athletics, was held in conjunction with the 28th Annual National Student-Athlete Day.

Three Hamilton College men's cross country runners and both teams were recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Feb. 11 when the USTFCCCA released the Division III cross country academic awards for 2014.

Emily Banzer '15 just wrapped up her fourth and final year on the Hamilton College women's cross country team. The anthropology and French dual major made the 2014 NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team and the 2014 NESCAC Fall All-Sportsmanship Team. Emily posted the fastest 6-kilometer time of her Hamilton career in her final race at the 2014 NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional Championship where she helped the Continentals finish 13th out of 40 teams.

Hamilton College's Lainie Smith '16 (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley HS) ended up in 117th place out of 275 finishers at the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship, which was held at the Golf Center at King's Island in Mason, Ohio, on Nov. 22.
