  • Hamilton students kept busy during spring break, exploring their passions at places far and near. Eighteen seniors traveled to Nepal to trek the Himalayas; the College Choir toured Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and West Virginia, where they performed with other college singers; Alternate Spring Break groups did volunteer work in Kentucky, Delaware, North Carolina, and Syracuse, N.Y. Athletic teams competed in the NCCAs and during trips to Florida, and the Curling team made it to nationals.

  • After a two-year hiatus, Hamilton’s Curling Club will be sweeping their way to Fargo, N.D., to compete in the National College Curling Championship taking place March 11-13.

  • After strong showings in bonspiels this semester, Hamilton’s Curling Club is headed to the National College Curling Championships, March 13 to 15 in Fargo, N.D.

  • Despite what team captain Jay Carhart ’21 describes as “a strange year for Hamilton curling,” the team is headed for the USA Curling College Championship March 8 to 12 in Wayland, Mass.

  • Alexandru Hirsu ’17 recently won the 2017 Romanian Men’s National Curling Championships held in Bratislava, Slovakia. Hirsu along with his two teammates competed against three other teams in a round-robin style tournament.

  • Hamilton’s Club Curling Team will compete this weekend, March 10 to 12, in the National College Curling Championships at the Utica Curling Club, in Whitesboro, NY. This is the first year that the national championship will take place at the Utica Curling Club, which has a reputation as one of the finest clubs in the Northeast. Hamilton practices there regularly, and is hoping to have a home-ice advantage.

  • Hamilton’s Curling Team competed in a bonspiel (tournament) hosted by RPI on Dec. 2-4 at the Schenectady, (N.Y.) Curling Club. Twenty teams from 10 different schools, divided into five groups of four teams, took part in the bonspiel.

  • There’s just no one answer to the question: “What are Hamilton students doing over spring break?”

  • Hamilton’s curling team is co-hosting the annual Utica Curling Club (UCC) College Bonspiel this weekend with SUNY Poly and Colgate at UCC, 8300 Clark Mills Rd., Whitesboro. The schools will welcome 16 teams from 12 different colleges and universities. Hamilton will field two teams. The games begin on Friday, Feb. 12, ;at 9:30 p.m., and continue throughout the day on Saturday. Members of the Hamilton community are welcome and encouraged to go watch and support our teams.

  • Hamilton’s Curling Club is back in action with two tournaments under their belts and a number of promising underclassmen on the roster. The team has already participated in tournaments hosted by Boston University at Broomstones Curling Club in Wayland, Mass. (Nov. 7-8), and by the Rochester Institute of Technology (Nov. 13-15).
