  • Focusing on history at Kirkland and drawn to ideas, culture, and the lived experiences of people led Jean McGavin K’76 to serve as a champion of stories that draw marginalized groups into the mainstream.

  • Medical professionals Kevin Graepel ’11, Christine Laine ’83, and Jack Syage ’76 shared perspectives on the development of vaccines for COVID-19 in a Zoom event on Nov. 10. The event was moderated by Dianne-Lee Ferguson ’22 and Alyssa Bonanno ’21, and attended by both students and alumni.

  • More than 75 members of the Hamilton community gathered via Zoom on April 29 to hear alumni experts discuss the challenges and realities of governing amidst a pandemic. The virtual panel, hosted by the Hamilton Career Network, featured Tom Vilsack ’72, former U.S. secretary of agriculture and governor of Iowa; Bill Purcell ’76, former mayor of Nashville; and Maura Calsyn ’95, managing director of health policy at the Center for American Progress.

  • The law firm, Barclay Damon recently announced that Steve Blow ’76, of counsel, has joined the firm. An attorney with nearly 40 years of legal experience, Blow will work out of the firm’s Albany and Syracuse offices.

The couple provided the leadership gift for the $6 million transformation of Minor Theater into an expanded 10-suite, apartment-style hall, located directly across Campus Road from the Chapel.
