Hamilton closed the gap to 2-1 in the bottom of the third only to have the Tigers answer with three runs in the top of the fourth for a 5-1 lead.

The teams traded two-run frames in the fifth, but Sewanee pulled away with one run in the sixth and three in the seventh for an 11-3 advantage. The Tigers put the game out of reach with a five-run ninth inning. Hamilton managed 11 hits in the loss, but committed four errors.
