Professor of Art Rand Carter has contributed a chapter to a book published recently in Germany. The volume’s title is Entwerfen: Architektenausbildung in Europa von Vitruv bis Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts, Geschichte, Theorie, Praxis. The editor is Ralph Johannes, and the publisher is Junius. Carter’s chapter - originally written in German as "Die Ausbildung der jungen Architekturgeneration in den 30er Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts in Europa" - appears in the book in an English version "Educating the Young Architect in the 1830's,” also written by Carter.
