Professor of Government Cheng Li has written three articles: "China's Political Succession: Four Myths in the U.S.," published in Foreign Policy in Focus (May 2001); "China's Political Succession" published in Asia Program Report (June 2001); and "From Red to Green? The Chinese Communist Party at 80" (also translated into Russian, French, Spanish and other foreign languages) published in Project Syndicate (July, 2001). He also was invited to deliver a speech to an audience of 2,500 at the Chautauqua Institute in July.
During the summer, Li gave a number of briefings to U.S. government agencies and non-governmental research institutions such as The Rand Corp. and the Hoover Institute at Stanford University. He was frequently interviewed on national and international media, including BBC, Voice of America and Free Asia Radio. His work has been quoted or reviewed in The Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, South China Morning Post, The Taipei Times, The Australian Financial Review, China Business Review, Los Angeles Times and Reuters News Service.
