Cynthia Domack, an associate professor of geology at Hamilton College, has been promoted to full professor. Promotion to full professor is based on recommendations of the dean of faculty, the committee of appointments and senior departmental colleagues. The college president makes the final decision on promotion to full professor and in the case of tenure, presents the final recommendation to the board of trustees.

Domack earned her master's and Ph.D. in geology from Rice University and joined the Hamilton College faculty in 1985. She specializes in oceanography, paleontology, and also meteorology, and she has published papers for Journal of Geoscience Education, Paleobiology and S.E.P.M. Pacific Section Special Publications.

A member of the North American Micropaleontology Section of the Society of Economic Paleontologicalists and Mineralologists, Domack received the Excellence in Teaching Award for her work at Hamilton.  Her research centers on micropaleontology, specifically the study of Cenozoic Radiolaria.
