Hamilton College’s Andrew Madigan '14 (Purdys, N.Y./Somers HS) was honored at the 14th Annual Scholar Athlete Awards Dinner for the Central New York chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, Inc., which was held at the Turning Stone Resort on Jan. 26.

Madigan was a three-year letter winner for the Continentals on the defensive line. In 2013, he was a team captain and finished with nine tackles in eight games. He also forced a fumble and recovered one. In addition to playing football, Madigan is an accomplished piano player, and he has received a postgraduate scholarship.

The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring the future of amateur football at the local, state and national levels. The award testifies that the recipient has been voted outstanding in academic achievement, school and community leadership and football performance.

The Central New York chapter of the National Football Foundation is committed to promoting the virtues of “scholarship, citizenship and performance” as they apply in everyday life through the game of amateur football.
