Former Hamilton College rower William Cowles ’09 competed at the 2010 U.S. National Selection Regatta held in West Windsor, N.J., on Mercer Lake from Aug. 19 to Aug. 21.
Cowles paired with Ross Anderson of the Pennsylvania Athletic Club to compete for the Potomac Boat Club in the men's double. The duo finished sixth in the "A" final on Saturday with a time of 6 minutes, 47.329 seconds. On Thursday, the pair recorded a time of 6:27.084 and finished second to advance through their heat. In one semifinal on Friday, they crossed the finish line in 6:32.582 to take third place.
Earlier this summer, Cowles finished second in the men's elite heavyweight single at the U.S. National Championships.
