Hamilton won its fifth in a row, scoring four power-play goals
to defeat third-ranked Fredonia, 5-0, in the first round of the Hamilton
Round-Robin Hockey Tournament. Fredonia is ranked third in the latest NCAA East
Region Poll, while Hamilton is ranked seventh. Senior captain Jeff Bradley led
the way with two goals and freshman goaltender Brent Davey made 18 saves to
record his first collegiate shutout and improve to 5-0-0 on the season. Bradley
opened the scoring with a short-handed goal at 6:56 of the first and also
notched a power-play tally at 1:01 of the second. Joe Baudo and David Webb each
had a goal and an assist and Rob Rigg added two assists for the Continentals,
who improve to 6-2-0 with the win. Hamilton outshot the Blue Devils, 31-18.
Hamilton (6-2-0) plays Elmira (8-1-1) at 7 p.m. Sunday night, while Fredonia
(9-4-0) takes on Elmira on Saturday at 7 p.m. All games are at the Sage Rink in
Clinton and are free of charge.
