The Continentals battled tooth and nail with Middlebury last Saturday. Unfortunately they came up a little short, losing, 20-3.

Hamilton did not go down, however, without a fight. The Continentals tied the game at 3-3 on a 35-yard field goal by Greg Bemis (Enfield, CT) with 7:52 remaining in the third quarter. Bemis' field goal capped off an eight-play, 43-yard drive by the Buff and Blue. Hamilton clearly had the momentum in their favor. On the ensuing drive Ryan Nolan (Stoneham, MA) picked off a Middlebury pass giving Hamilton the ball back with a chance to go to take the lead. That momentum quickly shifted. On the very next play Mike Pellman (East Hampton, NY) had a pass picked off deep in Hamilton's territory. Middlebury would kick the field goal, take the lead back and never relinquish it.

The Continentals wrap their 2000 campaign up this weekend at Bates. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
