Barbara Gold, associate dean of the faculty and professor of classics at Hamilton College, has been named editor of The American Journal of Philology. The journal, founded in 1880, is published by John Hopkins University Press. Gold is an associate editor and takes over this summer. She will be the first woman to serve as editor.
