The Hamilton College Continentals men's hockey team qualified for its seventh consecutive appearance in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) and begins the quest to defend its ECAC East crown. As the fifth seed, the Continentals will face number-four seeded Trinity College at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, February 27 in Hartford, CT. The time of the game is tentative and may be changed by the host school.

Despite getting off to a slow start, the Continentals finished the last nine games of the season with a 7-1-1 record, including a three-game winning steak for an overall ledger of 12-8-2 (9-6-2 in the ECAC). Hamilton is led in scoring by senior forward Trevor MacArthur (Clifton Park, NY/Northwood School) who has tallied 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists), followed by the team's goal leader, sophomore center Victor Cizmarik (Toronto, ONT) who has netted 20 goals this season. Junior Chris Baudo (Tonawanda, NY) has knocked in 14 goals and assisted on six others for 20 points.

Juniors Scott Grenier (E. Taunton, MA/Governor Dummer Academy) and Brent Davey (Brampton, ONT) have split time in goal for the Continentals this season. Grenier sports a 7-2-1 record with a .908 save percentage and a 2.63 goals against average. Davey shows a 4-6-1 ledger with an .890 save percentage and a 3.90 goals against average.

The Continentals lost, 5-3, to the Trinity Bantams in Hartford earlier in the season. The Continentals were down 3-0 in the second period of that contest before Baudo and MacArthur slapped in two unanswered goals. After another Bantam goal to start the third period, MacArthur lit the lamp again to bring the Continentals to within one once more. Trinity scored one more goal to secure the win.

A bus trip to the game is being organized for all students, faculty, parents and fans. Anyone interested should call the Hamilton College athletics department at 859-4114.
