Bassist Keter Betts has performed on nundreds of recordings throughouthis career. He is especially known for his long association with EllaFitzgerald and can be heard on records with Tommy Flanagan, Junior Mance, CountBasie, Cannonball Adderly and many other major artists.
Houston Person is one of the leading tenor saxophonists in jazz today.He has lead his own band for most of his career, recording for the Muse andPrestige labels. Houston has collaborated frequently with vocalist Etta Jonesand his sound embodies the best of jazz and rhythm and blues.
Drummer Ed Shaughnessy has been the driving force behind the Count BasieOrchestra, The Benny Goodman Sextet and the Tonight Show Orchestra. He hasperformed on a long list of classic recordings and led the big band "EnergyForce." He is on the road constantly, working as a clinician and guestsoloist.
Multi talented trumpeter Byron Strilping has held the lead trumpet chairwith the orchestras of Count Basie, The GRP All Star Big Band and WoodyHerman. He has appeared on stage in "Satchmo" and "From 2nd Avenue toBraodway." Byron is a pops orchestra favoratie and has performed with theBoston Pops, the Virginia Symphony and the American Jazz Philharmonic. Hereceived his musical education at Eastman and Interlochen and is in demand as ajazz clinician and motivational speaker.
Guitarist Carmen Caramanica has acted as musical director for Lou Rawls,Tony Orlando nad Racquel Welch. He can be heard in jazz clubs across centralNY and is in great demand as a guitar instructor.
Dr. Michael Woods is the Director of the Hamilton College JazzEnsemble.
Monk Rowe is an instructor of saxophone at Hamilton College and Directorof the Hamilton College Jazz Archive.
