Sophomore goaltender Brent Davey returned to action for Hamilton (7-6-2, 5-3-2 ECAC East) after a long injury, stopping 32 of 33 shots as the Continentals went on to defeat ECAC East leading Babson (11-2-2, 7-2-2 ECAC East), 3-1.

Hamilton played very physical throughout and used two first period goals to put the Beavers away. Sophomore Micahel Phalen scored the game-opener for Hamilton after banging home a loose puck in the goal crease. Then, four minutes later, junior sniper Rob Rigg threaded a pass from the corner to a streaking Trevor MacArthur, who one-timed the shot past Babson netminder Rob MacLean's glove-hand for a short-handed game-winning goal.

Freshman Eric Bookbinder scored the only goal in the second period, and for the game, for Babson on the power-play, scoring on the third attempted shot in front of Davey. Junior Zac Sweetland added an insurance goal early in the third period, tipping in Rigg's crossing pass.

Rob MacLean made 32 saves for Babson, and the Continentals return to action nex Friday, Jan. 30 against St. Anselm.
