Scott MacDonald.
An interview with Professor of Art History Scott MacDonald was recently included on a Columbia University Press blog that features a series of Black History Month posts exploring the Black experience.

Last year, MacDonald co-edited and contributed several chapters to William Greaves: Filmmaking as Mission, published by Columbia University Press. Greaves’ films have also been featured in MacDonald’s popular F.I.L.M. series events.

In “Q&A: Scott MacDonald on William Greaves, a Pioneer of African American Filmmaking,” MacDonald discussed the book and Greaves, described in the post as “one of the most significant and compelling American filmmakers of the past century.”

MacDonald shared some of his knowledge of Greaves’ filmmaking mission and process, as well as his many contributions to documentary filmmaking, including those as a writer, director, and editor.
