Israeli activist Haya Shalom willpresent a talk on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 4:15 p.m. in the Bristol CampusCenter's Dwight Lounge.

Shalom is the founder of KLAF (a Hebrew acronym that translates Community ofLesbian Feminists in Jerusalem), the first lesbian/feminist organization inIsrael. She is also the co-founder of the Women and Peace Coalition and anorganizer of Women in Black. The latter group held weekly silent vigilsthroughout Israel that were instrumental in shifting the political climate toencourage the Israeli/Palestinian peace accord.

Shalom will speak on the current state of Israeli politics, with specialattention to the implications for women and lesbians.
