Mike Kaufman (Thousand Oaks, CA), goaltender on the Hamilton College hockey team, has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week. This is the senior's first honor this year. On Feb. 24 Kaufman led Hamilton to a 4-0 win over Colby College in the quarterfinals of the NESCAC Tournament. Hamilton came into the game as the sixth seed, while Colby was the third seed.

Kaufman made 38 saves in net for the Continentals, posting his first shutout of the season. He has appeared in 11 games this season and has allowed 32 goals while making 252 saves. The senior netminder has a 3.67 goals against average and a .887 save percentage.

Hamilton advances to the semifinals for the second consecutive year. They will face top-seeded Middlebury College on Friday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Middlebury Vermont. This is Hamilton's ninth straight appearance in the post-season and their 12th since the 1987-88 season.
