Kerry Coughlin '11 is currently volunteering with the Peace Corps in Moldova. After ten weeks of job, language, and cultural training, she was sworn in on Aug. 17 as an English Education volunteer. She is now living with a host family in the village of Taraclia and teaching the English language to students in grades 2-12. She is the only native English speaker in the area and is learning Romanian. Coughlin also plans to organize extracurricular activities for her students, including a starting a school newspaper and a youth center where students can go after school. She would also like to improve the English section of library.
At Hamilton, Coughlin majored in comparative literature and was a member of the women's swimming and diving team.
