Philip Klinkner, the James S. Sherman Professor of Government, and Robert Martin, associate professor of government, will join New York State Senator Joseph Griffo in presenting "Considering the National Popular Vote (NPV) Compact." The League of Women Voters is hosting this panel discussion regarding the Electoral College, the NPV Compact and the implications of a constitutional amendment.

The program will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. at the Resource Center for Independent Living at 1607 Genesee St. in Utica. The cost of the breakfast and discussion is $12 per person. Klinkner has agreed to present support for maintaining the electoral college. Martin has agreed to present information regarding constitutional law and the process necessary to amend the constitution. State Senator Joseph Griffo, who is chairman of the Senate Elections Committee in New York, has agreed to present support for adoption of the NPV Compact.
