Hamilton College placed first in the lightweight eights at the Head of the Schuylkill held on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pa., on Oct. 30.

In the lightweight eights, Hamilton finished first in the 2.5-mile race with a time of 14:38.38, more than 35 seconds ahead of Lafayette College. Racing conditions included temperatures in the low 60's, with variable 5 to 15 mph winds.

Against 21 entries, Hamilton's open club eights finished seventh with a time of 14:11.43. Hamilton took fifth place out of 17 teams in the novice fours with a time of 16:08.43. Hamilton finished behind the U.S. Military Academy and La Salle University by slightly more than two seconds.

Jaime Leiva-Cabrera '14 was coxswain for the lightweight eight. The rest of the boat included Jeff Cardoni '11 at stroke, Rob Fagan '14 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Chris Visentin '12, Gibson Hoyt '12, Dylan Jackson '13, Jake Lucas '13, Max Geiduschek '14 and Matt Poterba '12.

Leiva-Cabrera  was coxswain for the men's open club eight. The rest of the boat included Cardoni at stroke, Brandon Wilson '14 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Visentin, Andrew Rippel '14, Aaron Whiteman '13, Rafael De La Rosa '12, Fagan and Grant Meglis '14.

Coyler Woolston '14 was coxswain for the novice four. The rest of the boat included Rippel at stroke, Simon Judd '13 in the bow seat, Wilson in 3-seat and Meglis in 2-seat.
