Hamilton College and Trinity College played to a 1-1 tie in a NESCAC game at Trinity in Hartford, Conn., on Sept. 10.

Dan Hughes '12 scored his second career goal for Hamilton, and Dillon Friday '12 was credited with his first collegiate assist. Eric Boole '13 stopped nine shots and played all 110 minutes in goal.

This matchup was the 2011 opener for both teams, and it was the first time they had ever played each other. After a scoreless first half, Hughes connected on a cross from Friday to give the Continentals a 1-0 lead in the 55th minute.

Trinity's Dan Mayernick tied the score in the 71st minute. Mayernick took a pass from Wesley Updike, and fired a shot off the leg of a Hamilton defender and into the net. Neither team scored in two 10-minute overtime periods. Grant Schonberg made four saves for the Bantams.

Hamilton held an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks. The Continentals travel to Williams College for another NESCAC game on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
