Scott Bickard '11 finished first in the 5,000-meter run as Hamilton College placed fifth at the six-team, multi-divisional Colgate University Class of '32 Invitational on Jan. 29.

Bickard recorded a personal-best time of 15:29.65 as he finished more than seven seconds ahead of the rest of the field, which included six runners from Division I programs.

Jimmy Alexis '13 was second in the pole vault as he cleared 4.00 meters, and he was sixth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.75 seconds. Jake London '14 took second place in the high jump with a season-best height of 1.85 meters. Joshua Orndorff '11 was runner-up in the shot put with a mark of 13.17 meters.

Ricardo Welch '14 qualified for the finals of the 60-meter dash and finished sixth in the finals with a time of 7.448 seconds. James Grebey '12 was fifth in the mile run with a time of 4:31.31. Just one Division III athlete finished ahead of Grebey.

Hamilton ended up with 69 points, and Binghamton University won the team title with 142. The Continentals host the Hamilton Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 5.
