Faculty members in SU's African American studies department and other departments at Central New York colleges say more students are taking their classes and majoring in the field than in the past... Vincent Odamtten, former chairman of Hamilton College's Africana studies program, said the 7-year-old program there also is seeing an increase in majors. This year, two students are scheduled to graduate with the major, but next year about four are expected to graduate.
