Peter Cameron '82 was a featured reader at the Association of Writers and Writing Programs conference and book fair held Jan. 30-Feb. 2 in New York. He is the author of several short story collections and novels including One Way or Another (1986); Leap Year (1989); Far-flung (1991); The Weekend (1994) which was adapted into a film written and directed by Brian Skeet starring Gena Rowlands and Brooke Shields; Andorra (1997); The City of Your Final Destination (2002); and most recently Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You (2007). Cameron has taught at Oberlin College, Columbia University's Graduate School of the Arts, Sarah Lawrence College and Yale University. 

According to its Web site, the mission of The Association of Writers & Writing Programs is to foster literary talent and achievement, to advance the art of writing as essential to a good education, and to serve the makers, teachers, students, and readers of contemporary writing.
