Geena Constantin '11 drove in four runs and pitched four no-hit innings to lead Middlebury College to a 6-0 win against Hamilton College in a New England Small College Athletic Conference West Division softball game at Hamilton's Ferguson Fields on April 15.

Constantin blasted a three-run homer in the first inning, and drove in Middlebury's fourth run with a double in the third. The Panthers added two runs in the sixth inning. Constantin started in the circle and improved her record to 4-1 this year. She walked three and struck out four in four innings.

Middlebury (15-4 overall, 6-1 NESCAC West) has recorded three straight shutouts and seven wins in a row. The two teams meet again at Hamilton for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 16.

The Continentals (5-15, 0-4) had a four-game win streak come to an end. Hamilton scored 41 runs in those four games.

For the Panthers, no player besides Constantin had more than one hit. Jessa Hoffman '13 doubled, scored two runs and had an RBI. Emily Kraytenberg '14 hit a pinch-hit double in the top of the seventh, and Alyson Downing '12 doubled and scored a run. Leslie Crawford '11 singled and drove in a run. Alexa Lesenskyj '14 completed the shutout and picked up her second save. Lesenskyj allowed two hits and fanned seven in three innings of relief.

Jen Rougeux '14 and Lisa Faraci '13 had one hit apiece for the Continentals. Mandy Hyne '11 started in the circle and suffered her first loss in three decisions. Hyne allowed three runs on two hits and two walks in one inning. Chelsea Merritt '14 tossed six innings of relief. Merritt allowed two earned runs on six hits, walked one and struck out two.
