Men's Basketball (18-7)
The men's basketball team participated in the UCAA Tournament last week.  The Continentals entered the tournament as the third seed. On Tuesday evening they hosted #6 Skidmore College.  Hamilton defeated the Thoroughbreds, 72-49.  Jimmy Driggs (Fairfield, CT) led Hamilton with 15 points and seven assists.  Kris Fudge (Utica, NY) and Noah Hammond (New Hartford, NY) each chipped in with 10 points apiece.  The win allowed Hamilton to advance to the semifinals and a date against Hobart.
These two teams had split their regular season games, with Hamilton winning the last game 84-62.  This game was much more competitive from the start.  Neither team could gain a clear advantage in the first half as Hobart held a one-point lead at the half.  Hobart came out firing in the second half, building a 12-point lead.  Hamilton would go down without a fight as they battled back to take a 66-63 lead late in the half.  Unfortunately the Continentals could not hold the lead as they were defeated, 72-70.  Noah Hammond led Hamilton with 20 points.  Joe Finley (Brooklyn, NY) chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds.
The Continentals will now prepare for the ECAC Tournament.  Hamilton will host SUNY Fredonia on Wednesday, February 28 at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals.  The winner of that game will face the winner of the St. Lawrence/ Alfred University game.  The semifinals and finals will be played at the highest remaining seed's school.
