The Hamilton College women’s cross country team placed 16th at SUNY Geneseo’s Mike Woods Invitational Saturday at Letchworth State Park.

The Continentals scored 448 points, good for 16th in the 32-team standings. The host Knights won the team title; Geneseo, ranked sixth in the latest national coaches poll, was one of six nationally ranked teams competing in the event.

Hanna Jerome ’18 was the top Continental finisher, placing 37th in the 453-runner field with a time of 22:51.6 over the 6,000-meter course. Lindsay Heyer ‘17 (65th) and Mary Lundin ’19 (120th) posted respective times of 23:19.8 and 24:00.9.

Hamilton’s other two scorers, Elizabeth Perry ’18 and Alex Reading ‘16, posted times of 24:17.8 and 24:22.8 to place 154th and 162nd, respectively. Hamilton's top five finishers all posted personal-record times for a 6-kilometer race. 

The Continentals compete on their home course for the first of two consecutive competitions next Saturday, hosting the Hamilton Invitational.
