Hamilton College won two of three matches, including two victories against New England Small College Athletic Conference opponents, at Wesleyan University and Yale University from Jan. 16 to Jan. 18.

Hamilton -- No. 16 in the most recent College Squash Association rankings -- improved its record to 7-3 on the season. The Continentals cruised to a 9-0 win at No. 23 Wesleyan on Friday before Hamilton split two matches held at Yale. Hamilton fell 6-3 to No. 13 Bowdoin College on Saturday, but regrouped to down No. 14 Colby College by the same score on Sunday.

The Continentals' top seven players won every game against Wesleyan. Kelly Whipple '10Kristen Rubin '10Alyssa Bawden '12, Leila Clifford '11, Courtney Kollmer '10, Danielle Forsyth '11 and Madeleine Sullivan '09 picked up 3-0 wins at positions one through seven, respectively.

Hamilton registered three team points against Bowdoin. At seventh position, Sullivan recorded a 9-1, 9-0, 9-0 victory. Anne Edelstein '11 won in straight sets (9-3, 9-0, 9-0) at eighth position, as did Jane Hannon '11 at ninth position (9-2, 9-0, 9-3).

In the 6-3 victory against Colby, five Continentals triumphed in straight sets. Kollmer (9-1, 9-2, 9-7), Forsyth (9-0, 9-0, 9-1), Sullivan (9-0, 9-1, 9-0), Edelstein (9-4, 9-1, 9-1) and Hannon (9-6, 9-6, 9-4) all won 3-0. Rubin earned the team's sixth point -- a hard-fought 3-2 win at second position.

Hamilton hosts Dartmouth, Northeastern and Williams at the Little Squash Center for a weekend of action that starts on Friday, Jan. 23.
