  • Women's tennis drops NESCAC matches

    Hamilton College lost New England Small College Athletic Conference matches at Trinity College and Wesleyan University on April 16 and 17.

    Hamilton (5-5 overall, 0-3 NESCAC) fell 9-0 against Trinity in Hartford, Conn., on Saturday, and dropped a 7-2 decision against Wesleyan in Middletown, Conn., on Sunday. The Continentals travel to St. Lawrence University for a non-conference match on Wednesday, April 20.

    Trinity (7-4, 2-2) is ranked 13th in the Northeast Region by the ITA, while Wesleyan is ranked 19th.

    On Sunday against the Cardinals (9-5, 2-3), Hamilton earned two victories in singles play. Deb Barany '11 was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at first flight, and Sara Shaughnessy '14 outlasted her opponent 1-6, 6-4, (10-7) at fifth flight. Barany is 9-4 in singles play, and has 48 career victories.
