Residents of Woollcott collaborated on a Thanksgiving feast.

The 20 residents of the Woollcott House, also known as the CoOp, celebrated Thanksgiving on Nov. 14 with a collaborative feast where each resident made a dish for this yearly tradition.

CoOp resident Julia Wilber ’11 recalled, “There was a CoOp in Keehn a while back but it was not set up on a sustainable model. Our CoOp has existed for six years now and I think we've stumbled upon a much better system.”

Since many of the dishes required ovens the kitchens in North, Carnegie, Ferguson, Eells, and Kirkland as well as Woollcott's were put into service. "With the five turkeys, pies, casseroles, and potato dishes, we needed all the space we could find,”Wilber commented.

Woollcott House hosted around 70 people for this year's Thanksgiving feast, including guests of honor Dean of Students Nancy Thompson, Residential Life Area Director Ashley Place, Director of Outreach and Orientation Amy James and her family, and faculty advisor professor of English and Creative Writing Naomi Guttman and her husband.

“Everyone seemed very pleased that they had broken away from their Sunday study rooms and come to enjoy good food and company,” Wilber said.  “It’s always a really wonderful time and best displays the community that the CoOp is all about.”
